Architect Gurhan Bakirkure designed the renovation project of ING Bank Turkey heaquarters in the finance district of Maslak, Istanbul. The renovation projects have been developed analyzing the needs and expectations of the employees in order to create a dynamic and ergonomic office atmosphere.

ING Bank Turkey Branch Renovation Project is located in Maslak, Istanbul, which is a significant finance field of İstanbul. As a starting point, we carried out a project workshop within the participation of current employees. By getting their current space experiences, BAKIRKURE ARCHITECTS aim to analyze their needs and expectations to create more dynamic and ergonomic office atmosphere that also meets their needs.
As happened in Silicon Valley, with offices of Google, the BAKIRKURE architects try to start from the creation of an environment that revolves around the employee and their needs to optimize the yield and quality of life.

Şişecam Headquarters’s is located in İstanbul – TURKEY with 35.000 sqm in total.
Sisecam Headquarters is designed to be feel like home for 1.300 people.
The project is designed as a living complex with its museum which displays process and work of glass arts, canteen on 1.230 m2 space, different cafes, showroom, library and “Academy” spaces.
In this project Bakirkure Architects perfectly present “living working spaces”.
Şişecam Headquarters’s new headquarters office integrates with this understanding by generating an exciting, living and joyful environment for the employees.
The main idea of the design is to “increasing productivity and motivation” and “increasing the sense of belonging by making the business life enjoyable with spaces”, colorful social areas gives people the chance of sitting, reading and also
relax around , e.g. kitchenette, hot desk, library are built in the core;
it supports the teamwork, communication and meeting different needs of the employees .
The transparency approach is based on producing glass surfaces used in the meeting rooms, where the access to the light of the facade is benefitted relatively less.
Combining natural and warm materials is one of the characteristic features of Şişecam Headquarters’s design. Glass, natural stones, wood, interior landscape items with the rough effect of its gross look can be shown as example of it.
The prominent determinants to develop the sense of aesthetics of Şişecam Headquarters’s are to prefer exposed ceiling, to display electrical and mechanical installation on the ceiling.
Acoustical ceiling mat blocks are integrated inside the lighting units to minimize the potential noise
problem inside the office which is planned as an open office with many meeting rooms.
The same conceptual spirit of Newformsdesign studies and architects, which brings us concretely to hope that this New Vision of Modern Architecture, bring the two companies to work together on future projects.
