An 85th-minute punishment from substitute Paul Mullin watched Tranmere come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Southend.
Mullin awakened and smashed home from the playground area.
Southend fell when Tom Hopper – to his first start in almost a year – clipped an effort neatly after assembly the through-ball of Simon Cox.
It must have been two when an undercover Tim Dieng implanted a header wide from six metres out.
After pouncing following a handling error by Davies, cox lifted a shot.
Rovers drew level just before the break after Corey Blackett-Taylor spanned an angled attack just on the surface.
Davies made a superb save to keep Isaac Hutchinsons drive out.
Rovers responded seeing a curling shot cleared off the line from Joe Shaughnessy, and were rewarded after a final 20 minutes.
