New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees labels surgery a ‘complete’ success

New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees says surgery on his thumb injury was a victory and is expected to miss six months.
The Saints are beginning a stretch of games to Seattle on Sunday with no quarterback Brees using the trip because the Seahawks seem to keep their best start since their Super Bowl championship season.
Saints coach Sean Payton has yet to name a beginner, although teddy Bridgewater is predicted to start for New Orleans.
Brees’ injury – a ligament in his casting principle, a week, lasted in a 27-9 reduction at the Los Angeles Rams – begs the question of whether the Saints have been developed to resist the lack of the NFL’s all time top passer.
“We’re getting ready to find out,” Saints boss Payton said if asked that question.
Bridgewater completed 17 of 30 passes for 165 yards after replacement Brees.
The Saints hope if he made a Pro Bowl selection in 2015 prior to a severe knee injury he was put by the preseason back, that he can recapture .
“We’ve 53 people on our team. Drew is a enormous part of that,” New Orleans defensive end Cameron Jordan stated.
“You can not replace Drew, however, in the identical time we do not know exactly what Teddy brings to the table. It’s been [over] two years since he has had a complete Pro Bowl season he had over in Minnesota.
“At this stage, I can not tell you whether we could defy without Drew.”
Payton would not confirm if Bridgewater would start, rather indicating that Taysom Hill can be in the mixture.
Hill has replaced Brees on event at quarterback when Payton belongs with a option and plays with an assortment of places on offense and special teams.
Brees’ absence was not.
Their offensive line has been defeated consistently and the team rushed for 57 yards on 20 carries. New Orleans were penalised 11 days.
The Seahawks wish to cut back on their own penalties. They’ve been penalised 18 occasions, including 10 for 93 last week.
If they continue to perform close matches, predominant by 2 in Pittsburgh and having beaten the Cincinnati Bengals by a single stage in the opener, the rash of fines could prove costly.
“Our hands’ve got to get cleaner,” coach Pete Carroll said. “That is just being littered with their hands, and we must do better. We’re not there yet, we are not on it .
“Our conscience is not right about it, and it is my hope that this hit tough enough this week. I am hoping the classes are strong enough that we may make an impression.
“We’ve got to do it. We’re a excellent third-down team.
“Everything , we stink, and that’s likely to continue to be hard and those happen due to sacks or because of penalties and we’re becoming third and fifteens and things. We have to clean up that.”
Meanwhile, the Seahawks don’t have some quarterback worries as they were led by Russell Wilson to their first 2-0 start since their championship season in 2013.
Wilson used his legs and his arm to a 28-26 victory that was crucial at Pittsburgh a week after Seattle opened with a one-point win from Cincinnati.
Against the Steelers, he completed 29 of 35 passes. He also spanned three times to keep alive a hard drive drive that consumed the final 5:34 of this game.
“It’s difficult to imagine that somebody will continue getting better once you’re in year eight,” Carroll told SeattlePI.com. “How can that happen? Nonetheless, it is. We’re watching it.”
